Totesport League Division Two, Hove: Sussex 266-3 beat Somerset 255-9 by 11 runs
Sussex recorded their seventh consecutive win in Totesport League Division Two as Richard Montgomerie's ton set up an 11-run win over Somerset.
Montgomerie struck an unbeaten 132, his highest one-day score, as the Sharks post 266-3 after winning the toss.
Ian Blackwell (57) and Keith Parsons (40) put on 96 in 15 overs for the fourth wicket but came up short.
Left-arm spinner Mike Yardy dismissed both men on the way to career-best figures of 4-26.
Montgomerie, who missed Sussex's previous 23 League games as he was thought to be too one-paced in this competition, justified his selection for the injured Ian Ward with an excellent 136-ball innings.
The 34-year-old former Northamptonshire batsman struck 10 fours and two sixes and shared in an opening stand of 132 in 19 overs with Matt Prior.
Prior ousted his League aggregate to 498 from nine innings by firing 62 from only 55 balls with nine fours and a six.
Former Zimbabwe star Murray Goodwin also made 50 from 62 balls.
