Victory still possible for Notts
County Championship D1, Trent Bridge, day three (stumps): Surrey 136 & 93-3 v Nottinghamshire 226

Nottinghamshire had their sights set on victory even though day three of their clash with Surrey was ruined by rain.

The visitors lost three wickets late on Wednesday in overcoming a first innings deficit of 90.

In continual drizzle, it was mid afternoon before umpires Jeremy Lloyds and Vanburn Holder abandoned the day.

In seaming conditions, much rests on the shoulders of Rikki Clarke, unbeaten on 21, Jon Batty and next batsman Ali Brown to salvage a draw.
