Sussex see off Surrey to go top
Totesport League D2, Guildford: Surrey 171 lost to Sussex 219-9 by 48 runs

Sussex went top of National League Two thanks to a 48-run win over Surrey in a rain-affected match at Guildford.

Big-hitting from Matt Prior and Ian Ward set Sussex off to a good start as they made 219-9 in their 22 overs.

Murray Goodwin joined in with 44 off 34 balls before Luke Wright hit three sixes in his 35 off only 14 deliveries.

Surrey were never really in the hunt after leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed took 4-36, and Wright weighed in with 2-27, despite Mark Ramprakash's breezy 63.
