Surrey fall short of Warwickshire
Totesport League D2, Whitgift School: Warwickshire 309-8 (45 overs) bt Surrey 260 (41.2 overs) by 49 runs

An unbeaten 89 from Mark Ramprakash was not enough to prevent Surrey from a 49-run defeat against Warwickshire.

South African left-hander Neil Carter got the Warwickshire innings off to an amazing start, hammering five fours and four sixes in his 58 from 36 balls.

Jim Troughton and Alex Loudon added fluent fifties in a total of 309-8.

Surrey opener James Benning hit eight fours in 37 from 24 balls and Ali Brown hit 52 in 34 balls with six fours and a six but Ramprakash ran out of partners.
