Surrey end Durham unbeaten record
Totesport League D2, The Brit Oval: Surrey 219-7 (38 overs) bt Durham 176 (34.1 overs) by 43 runs

Impressive all-round performances from Tim Murtagh and James Benning saw Surrey end Durham's unbeaten League run with a 43-run success at The Oval.

Benning made 66 in 84 balls and Murtagh added 31 from 22 balls with three fours and a six as Surrey made 219-7 after rain reduced the game to 38 overs each.

Murtagh, who did not concede a run from his first 22 deliveries, won three lbw appeals in six balls to stun Durham.

Nicky Peng hit 10 fours in 63 but Benning wrapped it up with 3-31.

Former England leg-spinner Ian Salisbury conceded 47 runs from his six overs but picked up three valuable wickets.

He ended a stand of 95 when Dale Benkenstein was caught behind attempting a cut, and then bowled Peng with a googly.
