Ramprakash guides Surrey onwards
County Championship D1, Cardiff, day two (stumps): Glamorgan 250; Surrey 162-4
Live commentary from BBC London available on this website.

Surrey captain Mark Ramprakash made an important 72 not out as his team closed on 162-4 against Glamorgan's 250 after day two at Cardiff's Sophia Gardens.

The innings also saw Ramprakash go past 25,000 first-class career runs.

But there was another failure for an England batsman as Graham Thorpe was bowled by Darren Thomas for five, while Simon Jones took 1-50 off 13 overs.

With play starting late after heavy rain, Scott Newman (44) gave Surrey impetus before falling to Alex Wharf.
