Richard Clinton was at the forefront of an impressive batting performance as Surrey dominated day one against Bradford/Leeds UCCE at The Oval.

The right-handed opener struck 106, with 18 boundaries, in a team total of 433-7 declared.

Mark Ramprakash (92) and Scott Newman (83) also made key contributions, while 22-year-old Jonathan Siddall capped a good day with figures of 5-86.

Martin Bicknell and Tim Murtagh struck as the students reached 31-2 in reply.
