Ashley Giles: Brilliant figures from England's number one spinner

England spinner Ashley Giles began the 2005 season in the best possible way as he took a six-wicket haul for Warwickshire against Glamorgan.
On the first day of the Championship, the Division One title-holders showed they mean business once again.
Giles had figures of 6-44 at Edgbaston as Glamorgan collapsed from 138-2 to 198 all out, with Matthew Elliott making the top score of 84.
Warwickshire then replied strongly to be 68-0, with Nick Knight on 41.
After winning the toss, newly-promoted Glamorgan began impressively with the bat through Elliott and Ian Thomas.
Warwickshire were searching for wickets when, with the score on 67, back-up seamer Nick Warren trapped Thomas lbw.

Veteran all-rounder Dougie Brown then removed David Hemp for eight, but Michael Powell moved smoothly to 31 to keep Glamorgan on top.
But when Giles had Powell caught at short leg, he soon bowled Elliott too.
Wickets continued to fall with Glamorgan all out in 63.3 overs, two runs short of claiming a batting point.
Four of Giles' wickets were bowled, with Dougie Brown and Keith Piper taking catches for the others.
Warwickshire openers Knight and Mark Wagh then saw off the new ball - and in particular Simon Jones - with ease.

I am looking to be my best come July
|
But in the 24th over of their innings, bad light brought a premature end to the entertainment.
After play had finished for the day, Giles said: "There is a lot of expectation when you come back to play for your county, particularly when you have had a good year.
"Some people expect you to turn up and get wickets but it doesn't always quite happen like that.
"So for the first time out this year in England I was pleased - it is difficult to get going in this sort of climate.
"I am looking to be my best come July but at the same time I want to be bowling well and getting wickets for Warwickshire because that will build confidence ahead of the Ashes."
