County Championship D1, Edgbaston, day four (close): Warwickshire 338 & 26-0 drew with Surrey 225 & 313-5dec
Warwickshire 10pts, Surrey 8pts
Mark Ramprakash struck a century but Surrey's draw at Warwickshire leaves their final game at Middlesex to decide who is relegated from Division One.
Surrey, who conceded a first innings lead of 113, resumed on 45-1 but only five had been added when skipper Mark Butcher was caught close in for 27.
Ramprakash hit 15 fours and a six and shared 150 with Jon Batty.
When Ramprakash was out Butcher set The Bears an unrealistic 201 from a minimum 14 overs and a draw was soon agreed.
Ramprakash was at his fluent best in reaching fifty from 72 balls with seven fours and a six, but played in more cautious fashion from then on.
With a lead of 200, Surrey's declaration then gave them time to adjust their over rate and avoid the loss of half a point as the home side made 26 without loss.
Bears skipper Nick Knight had time in the brief home innings to pass 1,000 Championship runs for the season.
South African paceman Makhaya Ntini did not enjoy the best of days on his final appearance for Warwickshire, with Batty dropped three times off his bowling.
Ntini left the ground at tea to catch an overnight flight back to Cape Town for a South Africa international training camp.
