Surrey and Kent were both contemplating another season in Totesport League Division Two after their match at The Brit Oval was ruined by the weather.
With rain still falling in south London, the umpires called an end to proceedings in what should have been a day/night match at 1800 BST.
With four points shared and five games left, Surrey were still 12 points out of a promotion place.
And Kent remained second-from-bottom in the table, ahead of Scottish Saltires.
