Not a ball was bowled on the final day at The Oval as Surrey's match with Gloucestershire was declared a draw.
The visitors were to have resumed at 294-6, only 181 runs ahead of Surrey, but steady rain prevented a start.
Umpires David Constant and Peter Willey finally called the match off midway through the afternoon.
Surrey's 12 points were not enough to lift them out of seventh in Division One, Gloucs staying eighth 30.5 points ahead of bottom-placed Glamorgan.
