Saqlain Mushtaq made a welcome return for Surrey to help keep Bangladesh A to even terms on day two at The Oval.
The Pakistani spinner, who starred for Surrey between 1997 and 2004, returned 3-82 in a one-off appearance.
The tourists made 336, exactly matching Surrey's first innings score, Tushar Imran hitting 70 and Shahriar Nafees and Nazimuddin making half-centuries.
Surrey were 88-3 at stumps with Mark Butcher on four after Talha Jubair took two wickets, Scott Newman making 48.
