Mark Butcher returned to the Surrey side but made only five on the opening day of the tour game with Bangladesh A.
Having been sidelined by a wrist injury since the winter, Butcher lasted only 17 balls before he was caught.
James Benning's aggressive century, with 19 fours and three sixes, put Surrey in a commanding position and they were able to declare at 336-5.
Bangladesh openers Shahriar Nafees and Mehrab Hossain jnr both hit three fours in a confident 45-0 reply.
