Reigning Totesport League champions Surrey enjoyed a rare victory in this year's competition to keep their hopes of avoiding relegation alive.

The Lions beat Northamptonshire Steelbacks by 39 runs at The Oval.

Batting first, the hosts racked up 265-6 with Adam Hollioake striking an unbeaten 80 off 66 balls and James Benning 50 off 58 deliveries.

The chase was too trying for Northants, who were dismissed for 226 in the 42nd over with James Ormond returning 4-48.
