Ramprakash makes lone stand
County Championship D1, Guildford, day two (stumps):
Warwickshire 537 v Surrey 307-9

Mark Ramprakash hit his third century of the season but lacked support as Surrey lagged behind Warwickshire.

Ramprakash was unbeaten on 138 at stumps in Guildford, with the hosts 307-9 - still 81 runs away from avoiding the follow-on

Dougie Brown had earlier become the third centurion of the innings and Brad Hogg added 67 from 41 balls.

Celebrations for Phil Sampson's maiden five-wicket haul were muted as Warwickshire moved posted 537.

Before this knock Ramprakash had made more than 800 runs against Warwickshire from his last 10 innings at an average of 134.

It was his 69th first-class hundred and his first at Guildford.
