Mark Alleyne led from the front as Gloucestershire secured a four-wicket win in their Division One basement battle with Surrey.
The veteran skipper took 4-39 to bowl the home side out for 176, Graham Thorpe making 36 and Greg Blewett 39.
Phil Weston hit a patient 40 and Matt Windows a brisk 63, with two sixes, in a 106-run third wicket stand to set up victory with seven overs remaining.
Rikki Clarke was the pick of a depleted Lions attack with 4-50.
