Kent have signed Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi as short-term cover until New Zealand's Ian Butler arrives.
Shahid Afridi is an all-rounder
The 24-year-old replaces fast bowler Mohammad Sami, who has joined Pakistan for the Asia Cup.
Afridi, who had previous county stints with Leicestershire and Derbyshire, was playing for charity side Lashings.
Kent chief executive Paul Millman said: "This signing will give Kent supporters the mouth-watering prospect of pairing Shahid Afridi and Andrew Symonds."
Afridi will make his debut on Friday when Kent Spitfires take on Middlesex Crusaders.
He is set to play three Twenty20 matches and one Totesport League game for Kent.
Butler is set to join Kent after New Zealand's participation in the NatWest Series ends in the middle of July.
