Foxes scuppered by elements
County Championship D2, Taunton, day four:
Leicestershire 402-8d & 95-2 drew with Somerset 262

Points: Leicestershire 12, Somerset 8

Somerset and Leicestershire shared the spoils as not a single ball was bowled on the final day at Taunton.

But there was a post-match sting for the visitors as they were docked one and a half of their 12 points because of a slow over-rate.

They had finished day three 235 runs to the good on 95-2 in their second innings, with Darren Maddy 59 not out.

Somerset picked up eight points for their efforts but are still without a Championship win this summer.

Somerset: P D Bowler, J D Francis, J Cox, J C Hildreth, M Burns (Capt), M J Wood, A W Laraman, R J Turner (Wkt), A R Caddick, S R G Francis, N A M McLean.

Leicestershire: D D J Robinson, D L Maddy, B J Hodge, D I Stevens, J L Sadler, P A Nixon (Wkt), P A J DeFreitas (Capt), O D Gibson, C W Henderson, C E Dagnall, M F Cleary.
