Worcestershire's Andrew Hall claimed figures of 3-10 as his team dominated Surrey on day four of the Division One Championship match at New Road.

The hosts declared their first innings no 400-4, leading by 245, and then had the Brown Caps struggling at 167-6 in their second innnings.

Stephen Peters hit 108 and Stephen Moore went further with 146 in an opening partnership of 240.

Surrey again found batting harder, with only Scott Newman (65) defiant.

They will need Graham Thorpe to dig in on the final day with plenty of support from the tail if they are to have any chance of forcing a draw, though the weather could also intervene.
