Batting first after winning the toss, the hosts tallied 215-8 thanks to Aussie opener Moss's 104 off 112 balls, a knock including seven fours.
Rain in the innings break reduced the visitors' target to 178 from 32 overs.
Ant Botha and Mohammad Ali both took three wickets as the Royals lost men at regular intervals to fall 18 short.
