Hampshire demolish Somerset
County Championship D2, Rose Bowl: Hampshire 290 & 334-9 dec beat Somerset 203 & 146 by 275 runs

Hampshire completed a massive 275-run win over Somerset late on day three.

Chasing 422 to win, the Cidermen were all out for 146, with Keith Parsons and Richard Johnson unable to bat.

Aussie Shane Watson (112), batting with a runner on his Championship debut, and Shaun Udal (74) put on 158 and Hants declared on 334-9.

Keith Dutch (60) and Mike Burns (30) forced them to take the extra half-hour but it took one more ball to finish, Billy Taylor taking 3-38.

With their fifth victory of the season, Hampshire remain in excellent shape to gain promotion, while Somerset remain winless.
