County Championship D1, The Oval, day three (stumps): Surrey 479 v Kent 239 & 254-4 (f-o)
In-form Rob Key struck an unbeaten century to frustrate Surrey after Kent were made to follow on at The Oval.
The visitors reached 254-4 in their second innings at stumps on day three - for a slender lead of 14 - after they were earlier dismissed for 239.
Surrey's Jon Batty was also in fine form and became only the third wicketkeeper in championship history to collect eight catches in an innings.
Kent's Steve Marsh achieved the feat in 1991 and Essex's David East in 1985.
Key, who has now hit four tons in his last six first-class innings, was unbeaten on 134 and shared in a 126-run stand with Michael Carberry (61).
Key made 86 in the first innings, with Azhar Mahmood taking 4-56 for Surrey.
Surrey will enter the final day in full control, and it seems only Key can deny them their first championship win of the season.
