Mahmood cuts through Kent
County Championship D1, The Oval, day two (stumps): Surrey 479 v Kent 181-5

Surrey's Azhar Mahmood claimed four wickets to leave Championship leaders Kent off the pace at The Oval.

Rob Key continued his fine recent form with an unbeaten 78 but found little support as Kent crashed to 181-5.

Wicket-keeper Jon Batty collected the first five catches of the innings, after completing an innings of 129.

Neither he nor Mark Ramprakash (157) could build heavily on their centuries from day one ut Ali Brown's 79 helped the home side post 479.
