County Championship D1, Hove (day two, stumps): Surrey 283 & 72-2; Sussex 271
Jimmy Ormond took 4-69 as Surrey bowled out Sussex for 271, 12 runs fewer than the visitors had managed at Hove.
And in their second innings, Surrey stretched their lead further to be 72-2 at stumps on day two of this Division One match in the Championship.
The Sussex innings was anchored by Michael Yardy's 115, Chris Adams the next best scorer with a patient 40.
There was an alarming collapse from 210-3, however, as Adams and Yardy were both dismissed and Ormond hit a groove.
