County Championship D1, Hove (day one, stumps): Sussex 126-3 v Surrey 283
Rikki Clarke hit 112 off just 90 balls as Surrey recovered from 14-4 to be bowled out for 283 by Sussex at Hove.
There was still time for Sussex to score 126-3 before stumps with Michael Yardy unbeaten on 69.
Clarke repaired the innings with Ali Brown (54) and Martin Bicknell (40) also lending a hand, after James Kirtley had ripped out the top order.
Mark Davis matched Kirtley's three wickets with the 2002 Champions dismissed in just 70 overs.
