Surrey 418 & 203 v Middlesex 325 & 32-0
Azhar Mahmood and Mark Ramprakash shared a century stand to take Surrey well ahead of Middlesex at Lord's.
Needing 297 for victory, the home side were 32-0 at stumps, after a brisk 18 not out from Sven Koenig.
Surrey were in trouble on 71-5 before the duo came together, Ramprakash contributing 68 and Mahmood a lighting 70 on the way to 203 all out.
Saqlain Mushtaq and Iain Salisbury had shared five wickets to cut their hosts down from 176-2 to 325 all out.
Stand-in skipper Owais Shah fell seven short of a century when he was caught behind off Mahmood.
