The Dragons currently have a four-point lead with two games in hand and their nearest rivals seem to be doing a good job of knocking each other out of the way for the one-day title.

Robert Croft's side have consistently amounted to more than the sum of their individual parts, with the emphasis on team-work.

But several of those parts are beginning to gain recognition outside of the Principality, with batsman Mike Powell and seamer Alex Wharf both mentioned in dispatches by England.

However, Lancashire will look to this competition for consolation after a disappointing Championship campaign and Gloucestershire remain dangerous.

Any of the remaining sides in the nine-team Division One could suffer relegation, although Essex and Surrey seem certain for the drop.

Middlesex Crusaders blaze the trail at the top of Division Two, with Paul Weekes passing 50 in half of their 14 matches so far and Simon Cook the most consistent bowler.

Worcestershire, Leicestershire and Yorkshire all have two games in hand over Durham and although the Dynamos are currently second they may still be dumped out of the top three.

Meanwhile, Scottish Saltires have endured a difficult second season. After they pulled off four victories last year, county sides have become more wary and only Durham have succumbed.
