BBC Sport has asked county coaches to name the most impressive player they have seen this year, in their own teams and among opponents.
Coaches will be sharing their views with us throughout the week and the result of the survey will be revealed on Friday.
Keith Medlycott (Surrey)

Jon Batty has caught up the gap between himself and Alec Stewart
|
Of our own side, Jon Batty has played exceptionally well and has probably been unlucky not to get more plaudits.
He used to be seen as Alec Stewart's understudy but he has caught up the gap between himself and Stewart.
A mark of his batting has been six centuries in the last season and a half, usually at the top of the order and his wicket-keeping, day-in, day-out, has been of a very high standard.
Stuart Law played exceptionally well against us [169 in the season-opener] but if you're looking for English players, Andrew Strauss is a compact and quality player at the top of the order.
The Middlesex skipper could play further down the order for England in the one-day series after being named for the tour but until I see him I couldn't comment on whether that will be successful.
John Inverarity (Warwickshire)
It's hard to pick a player from our side but Dougie Brown has batted well, Mark Wagh has improved as a batsman and Alan Richardson has put in some lion-hearted bowling performances.

I just don't understand why Law stands out here while his record in Australia is not particularly good
|
Stuart Law and Carl Hooper played well against us [sharing a Lancashire record fifth-wicket stand of 360 at Edgbaston].
I just don't understand why Law stands out here while his record in Australia is not particularly good. I doubt it's the conditions - it doesn't make logical sense.
Glen Chapple is also a competitive performer with the ball [eight wickets for Lancashire in the same match] and he gets runs too.
You only have 11 spots in a team so all-round ability is a bonus but you can't lose sight of the fact that players are in the team for one specific thing.
Check back throughout the week for more views and on Friday for the full results of the survey.
