Somerset slump against Yorkshire
County Championship D2, Taunton (close): Somerset 275 v Yorkshire

Somerset were dismissed for 275 in the rain-affected match against Yorkshire.

After losing the first session to the weather, Yorkshire put Somerset into bat and it was a good decision.

Somerset slumped to 64-6 after Steve Kirby had dismissed most of the top order in a devastating spell of bowling, ending with figures of 5-74.

Wicket-keeper Rob Turner turned it around a little for Somerset with an unbeaten 81 from 149 balls.

And there were cameo appearances for Aaron Laraman (36) and Steffan Jones (39).

Last man Simon Francis hit a career-best 44.

Craig White was able to bowl again for the first time in four months and the England all-rounder showed no ill-effects from his rib surgery in sending down a total of nine overs in three separate spells for 21 runs.

Somerset: P D Bowler, M J Wood, J D C Bryant, J Cox, M Burns (Capt) I D Blackwell, R J Turner (Wkt), A W Laraman, N A M McLean P S Jones, S R G Francis.

Yorkshire: M J Wood (Capt), S P Fleming, C White, M J Lumb Yuvraj Singh, R J Blakey, S M Guy (Wkt), A K D Gray C E W Silverwood, R J Sidebottom, S P Kirby.
