Norwich Union League D1, Swansea: Leicestershire 221-5 (44.2 overs) beat Glamorgan 220-8 (45 overs) by 5 wickets

Glamorgan's title ambitions took a blow after Leicestershire scraped got home with a last-over victory in their National League match at Swansea.

Australian Mike Kasprowicz removed both openers to give Glamorgan hope that their total was defendable but an innings of 67 from Iain Sutcliffe put the Foxes back in the driving seat.

Sutcliffe put together partnerships of 51 for the fourth wicket with Darren Stevens (28) and 67 for the fifth wicket with Vince Wells (31) to steady any nerves.

A typically high tempo Neil Burns innings took his side home, with the wicketkeeper scoring 38 from 42 balls.

Earlier, Glamorgan vice-captain Adrian Dale hit an unbeaten 78 to rescue his team after a poor start to their innings.

The Welshmen had slumped to 28 for 3, with Phil DeFreitas taking two wickets in two balls, before Dale and Matthew Maynard (38) mounted a recovery.

Darren Thomas hit a late 24 from 18 balls, whilst DeFreitas picked up the wicket of Mike Kasprowicz in the final over to finish with figures of 4 for 24.
