Mahmud 'will not resign'

Bangladesh captain Khaled Mahmud has vowed to continue despite whitewashes in the Test and one-day series to England.

Mahmud was booed by Bangladesh fans during the final match in Dhaka on Wednesday.

But the under-fire skipper said he would not resign.

He said after England had beaten Bangladesh by seven wickets: "I don't want to quit right now."

Bangladesh had scored 182, their highest total in the one-day series.

Mahmud added: "The decision on captaincy will be made by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the selectors, but I would like to continue.

"It's a tough job but we have two months before the next series in Zimbabwe. I want to work hard and be on top of my game by then."

Bangladesh have never won a Test series since joining the Test arena in 2000.

They have a single one-day win to their credit, against Pakistan in the 1999 World Cup.
