An Isle of Man select XI will play a one-off match against an 'Old England XI' captained by John Lever, MBE, at Cronkbourne in August.

The England team will be managed by Jim Parks and Isle of Man Cricket Association chairman Barry Smith says it will be a great occasion.

"The collective experience of their team is remarkable and it will be a great challenge for us," said Smith.

The visitors will stay on the island for a full weekend of activities.

The England team will also include Derek Randall, Clive Radley, Martin and Darren Bicknell, Geoff Humpage, Warren Hegg, Peter Martin and Jim Love.

Smith added: "The Isle of Man team has not been decided as yet but we will be fielding our strongest side for the match."

"It will be be great for our senior and junior players to spend time and learn from the collective experiences of these players and we hope to see lots of people down at Tromode to support both sides."
