Mordt led Berkshire to the Minor Counties Championship title in 2008
Berkshire captain Bjorn Mordt has praised his side's performance after their first win of the season.
Spinners Carl Crowe and Chris Peploe each took eight wickets as they beat Herefordshire by an innings.
Mordt said: "From my point of view as captain, sitting back and watching everyone contributing was fantastic.
"We played excellent, aggressive cricket. If we can start well we are very hard to catch so this is excellent for our morale and confidence."
Having won the toss, the hosts chose to bat and they passed the 150 mark with just two wickets down.
But Peploe with 5-38 and Crowe with 3-70 restricted Herefordshire to 215 all out.
In reply, David Barnes scored 119 as Berkshire made 401-7. Michael Roberts contributed with 78 and Jono McLean with 52.
Crowe and Peploe again starred with the ball in Herefordshire's second innings, this time taking 5-61 and 3-71 respectively as the home side collapsed to 181 all out, losing by an innings and five runs.
Mordt added: "Crowe's been brilliant since he came back to us. He's again proved his worth taking eight wickets along with Chris Peploe.
"Sixteen wickets between the senior pros is exactly what I wanted."
Berkshire's next opponents in the Minor Counties Championship are Wales, who come to Falkland Cricket Club on 4 July.
"They're always are a difficult team to knock over because they generally are all Glamorgan second eleven, so they are all young pros," said Mordt.
"But I think we have enough fire power to hopefully knock them over."
