Loaghtyn were then dismissed for just 30 runs after a vicious spell from Town paceman Andy Sewell.

Sewell returned a brilliant haul of six wickets for just eight runs, including a hat-trick.

Meanwhile, St John's recorded maximum points after a 116-run victory over Cronkbourne and Ramsey beat Crosby by four wickets.

Elsewhere, St John's bowler Danny Hawke played his first match for the Lancashire Academy Colts at Fleetwood on Sunday.

He finished with 2-18 from his seven overs as Lancashire won the match by nine wickets.
