Scots cricketers to host England

Scotland v Australia ODI
Australia were the last big-name side to visit Scotland

Scotland's cricketers will take on England in an official one-day international on 19 June.

England played in Edinburgh last year, with the match ending in a draw after the rain caused it to be abandoned.

Roddy Smith, Cricket Scotland's chief executive, said: "This is great news and we are delighted that England will visit again.

"With the game taking place on a Saturday, I am sure we will get a bumper crowd to support the side."

England's visit is the latest of several high-profile teams over the past four years.

Pakistan, India and New Zealand have also played international matches in Scotland.

In August, an Australia squad - still smarting from their Ashes defeat by England - eased to victory over Gavin Hamilton's side in Edinburgh by 189 runs.
