Sri Lanka ease to one-day victory

Sri Lanka 216-7 (50 ovs) beat New Zealand 119 (36.1 ovs) by 97 runs

Malinga finished with 4-28 after taking three wickets in one over

Thilan Samaraweera's maiden century and four wickets from Lasith Malinga helped Sri Lanka beat New Zealand by 97 runs in the triangular one-day series.

Samaraweera cracked a superb 104 and Angelo Mathews chipped in with 51 as Sri Lanka recovered from 69-5 to finish with a respectable 216-7.

Malinga then took three wickets in an over after Nuwan Kulasekara and Thilan Thushara had each taken three wickets.

And, after New Zealand slipped to 41-6, Malinga returned for the final wicket.

New Zealand now face India on Friday in what could be their last game of the triangular one-day series should they lose.
