Bracewell hails Flintoff career

Gloucestershire coach John Bracewell believes Andrew Flintoff will leave a legacy as one of England's most vibrant all-rounders at the highest level.

Bracewell told BBC Gloucestershire: "I think a genuine all rounder is the life and soul of a game. Miller, Botham, Hadlee - Flintoff was in that mould.

"He may not have had the statistics of the others, but he certainly had the same impact on a game and a team."

Flintoff will retire from Test cricket at the end of the 2009 Ashes series.

The Lancashire man will still play for England in the one-day form of the game, which Bracewell says should be a worrying prospect for opponents.

"All-rounders throughout our history want to be involved in the game. I always think of Flintoff as having beautiful hands, I continually remember how easily he caught the ball.

"I think he was a dangerous man with the bat without being a great batter and that for periods of time he was a frightening bowler, genuinely frightening."
