Lincs suffer MCCA Trophy wash-out

Cricket

Lincolnshire's MCCA Knockout Trophy match against Dorset at Bracebridge Heath was abandoned as a no result.

Sunday's game was delayed by 90 minutes because of rain and only 10 balls were bowled before play stopped again with Dorset on 7-0.

Persistent showers meant the sides were unable to resume the match.

Director of cricket Mark Fell told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "It was totally unplayable but there's nothing we can do about the weather."

Fell added: "We're still in a strong position with two wins and having one match rained off. All we can do is go and win the next one."

Lincolnshire's final group match in the MCCA Knockout trophy is against Cambridgeshire at March on Sunday, 31 May.
