Dilshan handed Sri Lanka recall

Sri Lanka have recalled batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan to their squad for the three-match one-day series in Pakistan starting on 21 January.

The 32-year-old was omitted for the series with Bangladesh beginning on Saturday, but hit centuries in both innings of the second Test with them.

Fast bowler Dammika Prasad was omitted to allow an extra batsman in a 15-man squad that includes just four pacemen.

The team begin their tour on 18 January after completing the Bangladesh series.

Dilshan has played in 152 one-day internationals since making his debut in 1999, scoring 14 fifties and one century at a healthy average of 43.

His 50th Test brought him great reward, with scores of 162 and 143 in Chittagong making him only the fourth Sri Lankan to score two hundreds in a Test match.

Veteran opener Sanath Jayasuriya retains his place in a squad that includes two young players in former under-19 captain Angelo Matthews and Thilina Kandamby.

Sri Lanka agreed to tour Pakistan after India cancelled the January-February series, and will play in in Karachi, Lahore and Faisalabad, before returning in mid-February for two Tests.

Sri Lanka squad: Mahela Jayawardene (captain), Kumar Sangakkara, Sanath Jayasuriya, Upul Tharanga, Chamara Kapugedera, Jehan Mubarak, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Thilina Kandamby, Muttiah Muralitharan, Ajantha Mendis, Farveez Maharoof, Dilhara Fernando, Nuwan Kulasekera, Thilina Thushara Mirando, Angelo Mathews.
