Inzamam dedicates win to Woolmer
Inzamam-ul-Haq
Inzamam scored 37 in his final one-day international
Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq dedicated his side's World Cup consolation victory over Zimbabwe to coach Bob Woolmer, who died on Sunday.

Inzamam, who scored 37 in the 93-run win, has retired from one-dayers and given up the Test captaincy.

"We dedicate this game to Bob because he was a wonderful person and every Pakistani and every cricket lover is sad about his death," said Inzamam.

"Also, retiring after 16 years has made me very emotional."

It was very difficult for us, like playing without our father, Bob was like that for us

Inzamam added: "My nation has been behind me all these years and I'm sorry I didn't respond well in this World Cup."

Pakistan failed to qualify for the Super 8 phase after losing their opening game to West Indies and suffering a shock at the hands of Ireland on Saturday.

And the Pakistan squad was plunged into despair by the death of Woolmer, who died after collapsing at his hotel hours after the Ireland defeat.

Batsman Younis Khan, a leading candidate to take over the Pakistan captaincy, said the players could feel the spirit of Woolmer in the dressing room.

"This performance is for Bob and his family," he said. "It was very difficult for us, like playing without our father, he was like that for us.

"It has been a bad two days. Everybody is hurting and nobody knows what's happening next."

Imran Nazir's dashing 160 provided some respite in Jamaica, his knock coming from just 121 balls and containing eight sixes.

Pakistan racked up 349 all out before Zimbabwe, chasing 193 from 20 overs after a rain delay, were dismissed for 99.
