David Langford-Smith is expected to earn his first Irish cap in the C&G Trophy match against Hampshire in Dublin on 23 April.
The Phoenix player produced an impressive bowling peromance in the non-capped friendly match against Loughborough UCCE on Saturday.
Langford-Smith is named in Ireland's squad of 12 for the Trophy opener.
Overseas professionals, Shahid Afridi and Saqlain Mushtaq of Pakistan, will make their debuts for the Irish.
