The Asia Cup one-day tournament to be hosted by Pakistan will not now take place until April 2008.
Pakistan has never hosted an Asia Cup tournament
The event, also featuring Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the UAE, and Oman, was originally scheduled for February 2006.
It was postponed until September 2007 because of India's busy schedule and has now been put back further.
"We honoured India's request despite suffering losses but we hope it will be held regularly," Asian Cricket Council chief executive Ashraful Huq said.
The tournament was last played in Sri Lanka in 2004, with the hosts triumphing.
