Younis has produced three centuries in his last four Test appearances and has become a dependable member of the strong Pakistan middle order.
His superb 267 in Bangalore squared the away Test series against India and he is now the regular vice-captain.
Perhaps the most graceful batsman in the side, the right-hander plays some sublime drives down on one knee.
He is also a fairly versatile member of the squad, with the ability to bowl leg-spin and keep wicket when required.
