Pakistan side clinch 20/20 title
Latif is carr8ied off the field by a team-mate
Man of the match Latif finished the final with a six
Naved Latif played a captain's innings to guide the Faisalabad Wolves to a victory at Grace Road in the inaugural International 20:20 Club Championship.

The Pakistan international led the run chase with two sixes in his 45 off 33 deliveries to overcame Sri Lanka's Chilaw Marians with 11 balls to spare.

Home side Leicestershire crashed out at the semi-final stage, victims of a nine-run defeat to the Marians.

Faisalabad squeezed into the final with a last-ball win over the PCA Masters.

English Twenty20 Cup champions Somerset failed to make it past the group stage, where they were beaten by Faisalabad in a bowl out then by 2004 champions Leicestershire on Friday evening.

Set 133 to win the final, Mohammad Hafeez hit 31 as the Wolves appeared to be coasting to victory until leg-spinner Nimesh Perara claimed three wickets.

Latif finished the game off in style, though, with a six over long on, then picked up the £25,000 winner's cheque for his team.

The flamboyant Sri Lankan batsmen had struggled to break the shackles in their innings with only Perara, who hit 37 off 33 balls, really profiting.

Leicestershire had been kicked out of their own party early on finals day after Hasantha Fernando hit 38 from 34 balls, then took advantage of some seam movement to take 3-7 with ball in hand.
