Sri Lanka eased to a six-wicket win over Bangladesh to complete a 3-0 series whitewash in the one-day series between the two countries.

Avishka Gunawardene hit 52 as the hosts needed less than half the overs available to chase down a rain-adjusted traget of 106 from 46 overs.

Earlier, Bangladesh had been bowled out for 108 in the 39th over having been allowed 48 overs of batting.

Shariar Nafees was the highest scorer with 21 in a feeble display of batting.

New-ball bowlers Dilhara Fernando and Farveez Maharoof each took three wickets as the tourists collapsed from 47-0 to 54-6.

After the briefest of recoveries, spinners Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Chandana shared the final four wickets to wrap up the innings.

Sri Lanka had decided to rest key players such as Sanath Jayasuriya, Muttiah Muralitharan and Chaminda Vaas.

But thier absence did not weaken them in the slightest and Gunawardene needed just 61 balls to score his runs.
