Paceman Simon Jones has left England's NatWest Series squad to allow his injured right knee to recover.
The 26-year-old will be replaced by Hampshire seamer Chris Tremlett, who has enjoyed an impressive start to the season for his county.
Jones was given the all-clear after a scan on the injury yesterday but played only a minor part in training at Bristol on Saturday morning.
Tremlett was named in England's 25-man development squad earlier this season.
He has never played for England's senior side - though has gone through the Academy and been in hot form for his county in recent weeks.
Tremlett will link up with the rest of the squad later on Saturday.
But England are now expected to name the same side which claimed a 10-wicket victory over Bangladesh at the Oval on Thursday.
Captain Michael Vaughan said: "Simon has gone off to do a week's rehabilitation work on his knee and we hope to see him back but this is a good opportunity for Chris Tremlett."
