Sri Lanka confirm tour
Dav Whatmore
Bangladesh coach Dav Whatmore will face his former team
Sri Lanka are to make their first tour to Bangladesh later this year.

The two teams will play three oen-day internationals, the first two in Dhaka and the third in Chittagong, on 10, 11 and 14 November.

The one-day series will be followed by two Tests, with Bangladesh seeking to avenge three defeats in Sri Lanka in 2001 and 2002.

They are now coached by Dav Whatmore, who previously had two spells in charge of Sri Lanka.

He was sacked following last year's World Cup and appointed by Bangladesh the following month.

Although they have yet to win a Test, he did guide them to their first one-day international win for five years against Zimbabwe in Harare two months ago.

Sri Lanka, meanwhile, have increased the size of their national team selection panel to seven and former fast bowler Asantha de Mel has replaced Lalith Kaluperuma as chairman.

Aravinda de Silva, the batting star of Sri Lanka's 1996 World Cup win under Whatmore, has left the panel.

Itinerary

10 November 1st ODI, Dhaka (day/night)
11 November 2nd ODI, Dhaka (day/night)
14 3rd ODI, Chittagong
18-22 1st Test, Chittagong
