Kallis was named players' player and gained the fans award

Jacques Kallis collected four trophies, including South African cricketer of the year at a Thursday award ceremony.

Makhaya Ntini was named top one-day player and batsman Jacques Rudolph best international newcomer.

Kallis, who hit centuries in five consecutive Tests, was also named top Test player, and topped polls for both players and fans.

"Jacques is without doubt one of our finest ever cricketers," said United Cricket Board boss Gerald Majola.

"His performances in the last year have been phenomenal and put him amongst the game's current greats.

A gala banquet in Johannesburg also recognised leading amateur players and administrators.

Gary Kirsten received a special award to mark his retirement as South Africa's leading Test run-scorer with 101 Test caps.
