In the spotlight: Clare Connor
Clare Connor, 26, is the captain of the England women's cricket team.

She plays for Sussex, is an all-rounder and is also a teacher and part-time broadcaster.

Clare describes herself as confident, articulate, outgoing, organised and very scared and is also "a realist rather than a romantic."

Here are 10 interesting facts about Clare to enlighten you.

Clare Connor
Now she is on TV more often Clare has had to "smarten up"

She lives with her parents and 16-year-old brother Jeremy in Hove after splitting up with the boyfriend she had been seeing for seven years.

She wants to get married to someone "dark, fairly tall, broad-shouldered and with a love of sport" but is in no hurry and is in two minds about having children.

Clare has a broad interest in music, including REM, Eminem, Crowded House, Coldplay, Robbie Williams. She says she enjoys singing but is atrocious. "I cleared out a karaoke bar once."

Her perfect Sunday would involve breakfast with her family and a big pot of fresh coffee, then looking at the Sunday papers and talking to her Dad about sport. There would then be a meal at a pub or an Italian restaurant.

Clare Connor
Clare enjoys walking along the seafront in Brighton or Hove

She drives a Vauxhall Astra but would like an Audi Coupe though she admits it would "not be very practical with lots of cricket kit."

She does not cook a lot and when she does it's mainly pasta. Clare's four perfect guests at a dinner party would be her Mum, Shakespeare, Sachin Tendulkar (and Jamie Oliver of course.)

Her favourite sporting stars from outside the world of cricket are England rugby fly-half Jonny Wilkinson and golfer Annika Sorenstam. She also enjoys playing golf.

Clare dislikes people who ask a question and don't listen to the answer and also despises rudeness, prejudice and disloyalty.

She enjoys wandering around The Lanes in Brighton buying clothes but has to be "in the mood."

Her favourite actor is Hugh Grant who she calls "coy and fluffy."
