County Championship D1, Guildford: Middlesex 385 drew with Surrey 411 and 94-0
Total Bonus Pts: Surrey 8 Middlesex 7
Surrey remain on top of the County Championship after drawing with Middlesex at Guildford.
The rain brought an early close to proceedings but there was never any prospect of a win.
Middlesex were all out for 385 in the morning - 26 runs short of Surrey's first-innings total.
David Nash was unfortunate to be left stranded on 96 when last-man-out Chad Keegan was bowled by Martin Bicknell for four. Bicknell ended the match with 4-102.
Surrey opener Jon Batty had to retire hurt when he suffered two blows to the head off Ashley
Noffke.
The first struck him on the grille of his helmet and the next delivery, even
quicker, struck him on the side of the head, and left him requiring lengthy
treatment from the Surrey physiotherapist.
Mark Ramprakash came in and Surrey were 94 without loss when the match was declared a draw.
